Mumbai, May 28: Indian stock markets remained closed on May 28 in observance of Eid al-Adha, a major Islamic festival celebrated across the nation. Trading activities on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) were suspended for the day in accordance with the official holiday calendar.
The closure impacted trading across equities, derivatives, currency, and securities lending and borrowing segments. Market participants, including investors, brokers, and financial institutions, observed the holiday alongside millions celebrating Eid al-Adha.
Eid al-Adha, also known as the “Festival of Sacrifice,” is one of the most significant religious occasions in Islam and is marked by prayers, charitable acts, and community gatherings.
Regular trading operations are scheduled to resume on the next business day, subject to standard market timings.
For additional updates and trading schedules, investors are advised to refer to official exchange notifications issued by the BSE and NSE.
