Medhavi Skills University Convenes its Inaugural Leadership Dialogue on World Youth Skills Day, Calls for Building a Skills-First India

New Delhi, July 15: On the occasion of World Youth Skills Day, and echoing this year’s global theme, “Skills for a Shared Future,” Medhavi Skills University yesterday convened its inaugural “Skills First India Leadership Dialogue” at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, bringing together senior leaders from the industry, Government and academia to deliberate on one shared national imperative- Building a Skills-First India.

The dialogue, focussed on a singular discourse, “Building a Skills First India: The Workforce Imperative for Viksit Bharat 2047”, divided into two power packed panels, presenting thought provoking point of views from both industry and policy perspectives. Both panels sought to contextualise the global conversation within India’s rapidly evolving economic landscape, underscoring that a truly shared future can only be realised through a skills-first ecosystem where education, industry and Government work collectively towards a shared mission.

The event witnessed high-profile Government and industry representation with insightful addresses from Shri Robin Hibu, IPS, Special Commissioner (HR) and Director General of Police (DGP), Delhi Police and Shri Nikhil Kanodia, Managing Director, Precision Electronics.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Pravesh Dudani, Founder and Chancellor, Medhavi Skills University, said, “This year’s World Youth Skills Day theme- ‘Skills for a Shared Future’ serves as a befitting reminder that the future cannot be built in silos. India has an unprecedented opportunity to lead by creating a skills-first ecosystem where education, industry and Government move together to transform learning into livelihood and potential into productivity.”

The first panel, “Reimagining Talent for India’s Next Growth Story: An Industry Perspective”, was moderated by Mr. Devender K. Saini, Chief Strategy Officer, Medhavi Group and featured Mr. Ashissh Kapoor, Director-Human Resources, Ernst & Young; Mr. Atanu Banerjee, CEO, Spectrum Talent Management Limited; Mr. Neeraj Malik, Whole Time Director, Board Member and CBO, Aptech Private Limited; Mr. Vivek Sinha, Founder and CEO, Emversity; Ms. Asha Pathania, Sr. VP-FM and Hospitality, PVR Inox and Dr. Anjlee Prakash, Founder, Learning Links Foundation. The discussion centred around how industry can play a pivotal role in jointly nurturing talent along with educators and policy makers alike by being a part of the higher education ecosystem and mainstreaming work-integrated learning into it.

The second panel, “From Vision to Execution: The Policy Roadmap for a Skills First India”, moderated by Ms. Suchita Dutta, Executive Director at Indian Staffing Federation, brought together Mr. Debmalya Banerjee, Regional Director (Northern Region), Indian Chamber of Commerce; Ms. Jassi Dimple, VP & Dean (Academics) Medhavi Skills University; Mr. Ankush Arora, HR Transformation Leader; Dr. Swati Popat Vats, President, Early Childhood Association India & President, Podar Education Network, to discuss the policy frameworks, institutional partnerships and collaborative approaches required to accelerate India’s transition towards a future-ready, skills-led economy.

With the launch of its flagship Leadership Dialogue, Medhavi Skills University signalled its intent to build an enduring platform for national discourse around skills, reinforcing the belief that India’s growth story will be defined not merely by the size of its workforce, but by the strength of its skills ecosystem and by its collective commitment to creating skills for a shared future.
