Bhubaneswar, May 12: The Empowered Committee on Infrastructure for Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Projects, chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg, has given in-principle approval to five new PPP initiatives across health, sewerage treatment, urban development, water supply, and animal vaccine production, with a combined estimated investment of ₹1,130 crore.
An official statement highlighted that the committee also reviewed the progress of ongoing PPP projects and instructed departments and project sponsors to adhere to strict timelines, maintain transparency, and ensure rigorous due diligence at every stage of implementation.
Chief Secretary Anu Garg underscored the importance of PPP projects in achieving Odisha’s “Vision 2036” goals, emphasizing that private sector participation would be key to sustainable development and accelerating infrastructure growth in the state.
Additionally, the committee approved a collaboration between the Finance Department’s PPP Cell and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to develop a robust pipeline of viable projects and strengthen Odisha’s PPP ecosystem, facilitating greater private investment and long-term economic growth.
These approvals signal the state’s commitment to leveraging public-private partnerships to modernize infrastructure and improve essential services for its citizens.
