New Delhi, May 12: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Delhi-NCR, forecasting rain accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds over the next 24 hours.
The weather department said the region is likely to witness light to moderate rainfall at several places, along with lightning activity due to shifting atmospheric conditions over northwest India.
Residents have been advised to exercise caution during thunderstorms, avoid open areas during lightning, and take necessary safety precautions in case of strong winds.
Officials noted that such weather changes are typical during seasonal transitions and may bring temporary relief from prevailing heat conditions in the national capital region.
The IMD continues to monitor the situation closely and will update advisories if weather conditions intensify.
