“The Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in today’s Union Budget 2022-23 announced an extension of custom duty exemption on steel scrap by a year. This move will certainly help the small- and medium-sized businesses. Additionally, the robust allocation of Rs. 7.5 lakh crore as capital expenditure for FY23 will help give a boost to the infrastructure and manufacturing sectors, which is further encouraged with the Government’s announcement to create 60 lakh new jobs and additional new production of Rs 30 lakh crore, with the push for PLI schemes in 14 sectors.

The implementation of the Ken-Betwa Link Project, at an estimated cost of Rs. 44,605 crore will also be taken up and the draft DPRs of five river links, namely Damanganga-Pinjal, Par-Tapi-Narmada, Godavari-Krishna, Krishna-Pennar and Pennar-Cauvery have also been finalized to uplift the irrigation sector.

Besides this, the Government’s allocation of Rs. 60,000 crore for providing access to tap water for 3.8 crore households under Har Ghar, Nal Se Jal further boosts the steel pipe manufacturing sector in water transportation.” – Dr. R. C. Mansukhani, Chairman, Man Industries (India) Limited.
