IIM Bodh Gaya has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AGD Biomedicals, a reputed medical equipment manufacturer, to strengthen the IIM’s MBA in Hospital and Healthcare Management (MBA-HHM) programme. As part of this collaboration, AGD Biomedicals will design, deliver, and evaluate a specialised course titled “Dynamics of Medical Devices & Equipment Business”. The course will focus on building industry-relevant knowledge and skills for students aiming to develop careers in the fast-growing Med-Tech & Medical Devices sector.
In addition to academic collaboration, AGD Biomedicals will also offer summer internships and placement opportunities to MBA (HHM) students based on their performance in the course.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Vinita Sahay, Director of IIM Bodh Gaya, and Dr. Rajesh M. Patel, CEO of AGD Biomedicals. Dr. Sahay and Dr. Patel described the collaboration as a strategic and forward-looking step that creates a win-win arrangement and opens a new chapter in industry-academia partnership. They emphasised that the MoU is not only futuristic but also instrumental in strengthening the bridge between academic learning and real-world healthcare industry practice.
Dr. Swapnarag Swain, Chairperson of the MBA (HHM) programme at IIM Bodh Gaya, highlighted that this collaboration marks a significant step towards integrating real-world industry dynamics into the curriculum.
IIM Bodh Gaya launched its two-year full-time MBA in Hospital & Healthcare Management (MBA-HHM) in 2023. The programme is designed to provide a holistic appreciation of the entire healthcare industry and mould industry-ready management talent for the area, including large corporate hospitals, public health, health insurance, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, digital health, and healthcare consulting. Med Tech and Medical Devices are among the strongly focused domains of this programme.
