May 25: The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported that more than 900 suspected cases have been identified during ongoing efforts to control an Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
According to WHO leadership, health teams are actively working on surveillance, contact tracing, and rapid response measures to contain the spread of the disease and prevent further infections. The situation remains under close monitoring as authorities continue testing and isolating suspected cases.
Medical teams and local health workers are being supported to strengthen outbreak response operations, including improving access to treatment facilities and expanding community awareness campaigns. Efforts are also focused on ensuring timely diagnosis and safe management of patients.
The WHO has emphasized that early detection and coordinated response remain critical in controlling the outbreak, while urging continued international support to strengthen healthcare systems in affected regions.
