Assam, May 25: The Assam government has announced a new collaboration with Google and UNICEF to strengthen digital education and help teachers adapt to AI-enabled classroom learning. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the initiative aims to equip educators with modern teaching tools and improve learning experiences for students across the state.
Under the programme, teachers will receive training in the use of artificial intelligence, digital platforms, and technology-driven teaching methods. The initiative is designed to make classrooms more interactive, personalized, and better aligned with the evolving education landscape.
The partnership will focus on building digital skills among teachers, especially in government schools, enabling them to use AI tools effectively for lesson planning, assessments, and student engagement. Officials believe the move will help bridge the digital learning gap and prepare students for future technology-driven careers.
The state government described the initiative as an important step toward modernising Assam’s education system and creating a more inclusive and innovative learning environment for both teachers and students.
