Amritsar, May 14: The Amritsar railway station is set to undergo a major redevelopment with an estimated investment of ₹402 crore, aimed at upgrading passenger facilities and modernising infrastructure.
The project focuses on improving station amenities, enhancing passenger comfort, and upgrading overall operational efficiency to handle growing footfall at one of Punjab’s key railway hubs.
Officials said the redevelopment plan will include modern waiting areas, improved circulation spaces, better accessibility features, and upgraded passenger services.
The initiative is part of Indian Railways’ broader push to transform major stations into modern, world-class transport hubs with improved safety, convenience, and efficiency.
