New Delhi, May 13: The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the construction of the Ahmedabad (Sarkhej)–Dholera double line railway project in Gujarat with an estimated cost of ₹20,667 crore.
The project will enhance connectivity between Ahmedabad and the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR), while also improving access to the upcoming Dholera International Airport and nearby industrial and heritage zones.

The proposed rail line will strengthen passenger and freight connectivity in one of Gujarat’s fastest-developing industrial corridors. It is expected to significantly reduce travel time and improve logistics efficiency between key economic hubs.
