Citrus Freight Doubles Revenue Year-on-Year, Targets RS 45 Crore in FY 2024-25

New Delhi, 19th August, 2025: Citrus Freight, India’s first reefer container shipping platform offering end-to-end solutions for perishable exports, has recorded remarkable growth in just three years of operations. The company has doubled its revenue year-over-year and is now targeting a threefold increase this year, projecting a reach of ₹45 crore. Since its launch, Citrus Freight has built a strong digital presence, attracting 1,000 users within the first month and expanding to 30,000 registered users today. The platform is expected to touch 50,000 users by March 2026. With a team that has grown to 25 members and plans to expand to over 50 in the next 12 months, Citrus Freight is already working with leading agri-brands such as Dehaat, AgroStar, and Shyadari Farms.

The growth of Citrus Freight is driven by an increasing demand for fast, transparent, and organized cold chain solutions in India’s expanding fruits and vegetables (F&V) market. The need for a digital platform that enables quick decision-making on planning, costing, and execution—without the inefficiencies caused by intermediaries—has positioned Citrus Freight as a preferred logistics partner. By providing real-time information on consignment and temperature movements, the company ensures that produce reaches its destination fresh and in optimal quality.

The perishable logistics industry in Maharashtra alone comprises over 1.5 lakh small-scale agents and around 10 large-scale 3PL forwarding businesses that control the majority of movements. Maharashtra moves more than 8 lakh reefer cargos from Nhava Sheva to cross-border markets annually, with the F&V segment alone accounting for 1.5 lakh containers growing at a 12% CAGR. Currently, only 30% of this is handled by organized players, leaving a significant untapped opportunity for Citrus Freight in a $3.5 billion Indian industry.

For FY 2024-25, Citrus Freight plans to move 1,500 containers across key commodities, including onions, chillies, bananas, grapes, frozen, and packaged foods. The roadmap includes achieving ₹100 crore in revenue within the next two years and expanding to major southern and western ports like Tuticorin, Cochin & Mundra, to handle products including eggs, coconuts, organic food, fish, and meat. This strategic expansion is projected to drive the company towards becoming a ₹1,000 crore business by 2031 with a 22% market share in its category. Alongside, the team size is expected to grow to 150 members within the next two years, with a strong focus on integrating AI to address supply chain and trade challenges.

“In just three years, we have transformed how perishable exports move out of India by making the cold supply chain faster, more transparent, and digitally accessible. Our 3x growth target this year is just the beginning—our vision is to become a ₹1,000 crore company by 2031 while empowering thousands of exporters to access global markets more efficiently,” said Biplob Barik, CEO & Co-founder of Citrus Freight.

Citrus Freight also aims to scale its B2B app user base to 100,000 within the next two years and to 1 million by 2030-31, making it one of the largest concentrations of users for a B2B logistics platform in India. With its commitment to innovation, technology integration, and deep market penetration, Citrus Freight is redefining cold chain logistics for Indian exporters.
