Raisen, 07th August 2025: Demonstrating its continued commitment to community welfare and rural healthcare, the SOM Group of Companies organized a free medical camp in Sehatganj village, located in the Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh. The initiative brought much-needed medical support to underserved communities, benefitting more than 400 villagers in a single day. Patients from over 40 surrounding villages traveled to avail themselves of the free medical services, underscoring both the far-reaching impact and the urgent need for accessible healthcare in the region.
Held at SOM High School, the camp was conducted in collaboration with Asha Mohan Foundation Hospital, with the primary objective of providing accessible, no-cost medical consultations and essential treatments to rural residents. The medical team offered a wide range of services, including general health checkups, diagnostics, distribution of medicines, and on-site consultations, ensuring that timely and quality care was available to all attendees.
A distinguished team of doctors from Bhopal volunteered their time and expertise, including Dr. Teena Gupta (Gynaecologist & Obstetrician), Dr. Vasant Trivedi (Orthopaedic Surgeon), Dr. Sanjeev Gupta (Senior Consultant – Department of CTVS), Dr. Piyush Goenka (Interventional Cardiologist), Dr. Nitesh Upadhyay (Pediatrician, DNB – Pediatrics), and Dr. Nishant Kumar Shukla (Neurovascular and Neuroendovascular Surgeon). Each specialist played a vital role in addressing diverse healthcare needs across age groups and medical disciplines.
The camp witnessed overwhelming participation from the local community, including men, women, and the elderly, many of whom lack regular access to medical facilities. In addition to providing medical assistance, the camp also focused on raising awareness about preventive healthcare and the importance of early diagnosis, particularly in rural areas where such knowledge and services are often limited.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Deepak Arora, CEO, SOM Group of Companies, said, “We believe that real progress is not just measured by economic growth, but by the well-being of the communities that form the backbone of our nation. This camp is part of our larger vision to ensure that quality healthcare doesn’t remain a privilege limited to cities, but becomes a right accessible to all, especially in rural areas where the need is often greatest. It’s our way of giving back to the land and people who have been part of our journey since the very beginning. We see this not just as charity, but as our responsibility.”
Dr. Sameer Singh, Medical Officer, Asha Mohan Foundation Hospital, said, “Healthcare should never be a privilege reserved for the few. This camp was about taking medical care to the doorstep of those who are often overlooked. The response from the community only reinforces the need for more such efforts.”
Through this initiative, the SOM Group of Companies reaffirmed its dedication not just as an industry leader, but as a responsible corporate citizen striving to make a tangible difference at the grassroots level. The group plans to organize more such health-focused outreach programs in the near future, especially in remote parts of Madhya Pradesh.
The success of the Sehatganj medical camp stands as a testament to the power of collaborative, community-centric initiatives that bridge the gap between urban healthcare infrastructure and rural needs. The camp catered to a wide range of medical concerns, with specialists addressing issues related to cardiology, pediatrics, gynecology, orthopedics, among other key areas, ensuring holistic care for individuals across all age groups.
