New Delhi, 12th March 2024:– Shri Manoj Kumar, Chairman, Khadi & Village Industries Commission with great pride launched the collaboration on styling of DD News / DD India anchors in the august presence of Shri Gaurav Dwivedi, CEO Prasar Bharati and team of Doordarshan in Doordarshan Bhavan , Mandi House, New Delhi.
Addressing on this occasion Chairman KVIC said Naye Bharat ki Nayi Khadi is ready to be attire of all the anchors of DD anchors. This is another accomplishment of Hon’ble Prime Minister’s Modi ki Gurantee on popularising Khadi in every home at National level.
Speaking on Khadi associated with India’s independence and the special connection of the people of the country with Doordarshan after independence, KVIC Chairman Shri Manoj Kumar said that with this new initiative started from today, KVIC will once again bring the “New Khadi of New India” to Doordarshan. Together with this, this cultural tradition will take new heights and instill patriotic feelings among the people.
He said that once fabric of freedom struggle by Father of nation who also developed the concept of Khadi as a means to provide employment to the unemployed rural population and make them self-reliant is ruling ahead in building Aatmanirbhar Bharat. A Hon’ble PM’s mantra of ‘Khadi for Nation, Khadi for Fashion and Khadi for Transformation’ and Khadi which is seen as a fashion statement is ruling all hearts now, he added. This initiative of KVIC in collaboration with PrasarBharati is a dream come true of Hon’ble Prime Minister who wants to see Khadi popular Globally, he reiterated.
Addressing the event, he highlighted that, in the last 9 years under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri. Narendra Modi ji, Khadi and Village Industry (KVI) Sector has witnessed significant growth by surpassing turnover of Rs. 1.34 Lakh Crore and generating over 9.50 Lakh new jobs; which is a testament to the Government’s commitment to the welfare of Khadi artisans. Shri Manoj Kumar emphasized that this success can be attributed to “Modi Ki Guarantee,” reflecting the Prime Minister’s unwavering commitment to their well-being.
On this occasion he also handed over Angvastram and a memento to CEO Prasar Bharati.
Addressing on this pride moment Shri Gaurav Dwivedi, CEO, Prasar Bharati opined that this a great moment of pride for Doordarshan when the collaboration with KVIC will be visible to the world in reality in the form of Styling of DD India Anchors.
He said that following the path shown by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji for a self-reliant India (Aatmanirbhar Bharat) this initiative is dedicated to Sustainability which has taken significant strides to promote self-sufficiency and uplift rural communities and position Khadi as a ‘fashion fabric’ globally.
