Bengaluru, May 16th, 2023: Founded by Sangeet Agrawal and Navin Parwal, the Bengaluru-based D2C startup Mokobara is now opening its first physical store in Phoenix Marketcity, Whitefield. Having just completed its 3 year milestone, the premium travel and lifestyle brand that had been operating on online platforms is now ready to make its mark offline.
In the last 3 years, Mokobara has built a community of people who identify with the need for luggage and travel accessories that both solve real travel problems and look incredibly good. With the launch of their new store – Mokobara aims to engage with this community by enabling them to experience their products and interact with their representatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Apoorv Sharma, Head of Retail at Mokobara, says, “After having built a strong business online, we feel that going offline will help us reach out to a new consumer base and drive growth. Our retail outlet also allows us to convert consumers who have awareness about the brand, and what we stand for, but have been on the fence or are apprehensive about shopping online. Experiencing products IRL and getting a first-hand look and feel are especially important in our category.”
“Our first store launch in Phoenix Marketcity, Bangalore will be the cornerstone to our retail expansion plans. We’re looking at opening 25 new stores in the next 18 months, targeting prime metro locations. We want our community across the country to be able to interact with our products up close, at a store near them”, Founding Member Rumman Rizvi adds.
Since its inception in 2020, the brand has rapidly expanded its product portfolio as well. Best known for their iconic luggage and backpack designs, the brand has championed everything from work bags to wallets to premium travel accessories like packing cubes and neck pillows. With the launch of their new retail outlets, the brand is seizing the opportunity to build an experience around new category launches.
“Our retail outlets will serve as an excellent space to experiment with multiple new category launches. Come September, we’ll be foraying into the handbag category. Curating an experience offline only makes it all the more exciting”, says Founder Sangeet Agrawal.
