Gandhinagar, May 19: The Gujarat government has expanded its post-matric scholarship programme for Scheduled Caste (SC) male students, approving an allocation of ₹18 crore to strengthen financial support for higher education.
The enhanced scheme is aimed at increasing coverage for eligible students pursuing studies after Class 10, helping reduce financial constraints that often hinder continued education.
Officials said the initiative is designed to promote equal access to higher education and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds in completing their academic goals.
The scholarship assistance will help cover tuition fees, maintenance costs, and other educational expenses, thereby encouraging higher retention rates in colleges and universities.
The state government said the move aligns with its broader objective of inclusive development and educational empowerment across all sections of society.
Education authorities will oversee the rollout to ensure effective implementation and timely disbursal of benefits to eligible beneficiaries across Gujarat.
