Pennam Foundation in association with Nextal Meta creates a digital ecosystem for supporting education for special students

Hyderabad: March 20th, 2023: The Pennam Foundation, in collaboration with Nextal Meta, brings a revolution in the education sector by distributing 50 tabs customized with content to aid the learning of hearing-impaired students. The foundation also plans to give another 50 tabs in the next 3 months. The tablets were handed over to the children in the presence of Sri. Koppula Eshwar, the Minister for Scheduled Castes Development, Minority Welfare, Disabled and Senior Citizen Welfare, Government of Telangana. Smt. Bharati Hollikeri IAS, Special Secretary and Commissioner, Department of Woman and Child Welfare, Government of Telangana and Smt. B. Sailaja, Director, Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Senior Citizens and Transgender Persons, Government of Telangana were the guests of honor at the program. Sri M. Srinivasulu, State Advisory Member of Disability Rights Act Implementation Committee, Government of Telangana and a founder member of the Network of the Persons with Disability Organizations (NPdO) and Sri Nithin Sharma, Senior Director-Engineering, Qualcomm graced the occasion as special guests.

The tablets contain online learning materials for students of Class 10. The learning materials are based on the curricula prescribed by state boards and the Central Board for Secondary Education. The e-learning materials are created by the developers of E Sign Meta app, a novel, pioneering digital solution for the hearing impaired. E Sign Meta app facilitates introduction of e-learning methodologies for teaching the differently-abled children studying in K-12 grades and students pursuing higher education. The app will help students with disabilities get access to customized learning content and enable them to acquire knowledge and skills to successfully build their careers.
