[New Delhi, November 13th, 2024]: Soma – The Ayurvedic Kitchen, a first-of-its-kind within Maharishi Ayurveda Hospital, has introduced its ‘Hemant Ritu Special Menu’, available from the second week of November. This winter menu, crafted with Vedic wellness in mind, harmonises taste with Ayurvedic principles. Curated by a distinguished culinary team under the guidance of expert Vaidyas, each dish supports the body’s doshas – Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, through balanced, seasonal nourishment. According to Ayurveda, during winter (Hemant Ritu and Shishir Ritu), the body’s Kapha and Vata tendencies naturally increase, so the menu thoughtfully includes Kapha-pacifying dishes to balance these seasonal shifts.
The ‘Hemant Ritu Special Menu’ offers Soma’s Ayurvedic twist on winter comfort foods like pizzas, rolls, soups, sandwiches, desserts, and drinks designed for warmth and immunity. Highlights include the grounding Pumpkin & Thyme Soup, restorative Ayurvedic Turmeric Latte, and immunity-boosting Vitality Juice, all aligned with Vedic principles. Featuring Ayurvedic staples—basil and tulsi for immunity, turmeric for antiviral benefits, and cinnamon for warmth—the menu also tailors pizzas to balance doshas: basil for Vata, bell peppers for Kapha, and spinach for Pitta.
Speaking on the launch, Lakshman Shrivastava, Director of Maharishi Ayurveda Hospital, said, “This menu infuses Vedic wisdom into every dish, aligning with our mission to make Ayurvedic principles accessible through cuisine that not only satisfies the taste buds but also nurtures holistic health. Each offering on our ‘Hemant Ritu Special Menu’ captures the spirit of a traditional Vedic diet, supporting the body, mind, and soul while meeting the season’s needs for warmth, immunity, and balance. With this seasonal selection, Soma invites diners to experience the restorative power of winter foods, honouring Ayurveda’s belief in the importance of eating in harmony with nature.”
