Cambridge Schools in Delhi-NCR observe Earth Day 2025

Noida, 23rd April 2025There are 8.7 million species on the planet and human beings are just one of them. Being perhaps the most intelligent species, we must show our intelligence not only in technological progress but also in learning to cooperate to preserve the planet and its many forms of life.

The Cambridge Schools in Delhi– NCR, through their year-long initiatives and special events, aim to sensitise their students towards preserving the planet and committing to a more sustainable lifestyle.

Upholding one of their core values, Cambridge Schools marked Earth Day 2025 with day-long activities of fun and learning, inspiring students to adopt eco-friendly practices.

It all started with a morning assembly that set the tone for the day. Students shared thought-provoking messages on the importance of protecting our planet, which was followed by a cultural performance featuring music, dance, and a skit. These activities illustrated how small actions such as saving water or planting trees can lead to a big change.

The students were taken on a nature walk around the school to look at the different plants, trees, and birds. They were then asked to share their findings & learnings. The idea was to bring them closer to nature and its other inhabitants.

The students also engaged in a hands-on craft activity using recycled materials, to get a deeper understanding of how recycling and reusing help the planet. The craft work was displayed in the classrooms and corridors as the students called it an “Earth Day Gallery”.

During the Earth Day celebrations at Cambridge Schools, students also watched educational videos related to climate change and how they could conserve their planet. Music and rhymes added to the enthusiasm. The celebration concluded with a collective pledge by the students and staff to do their part for the environment

Speaking on the occasion, Anshu Verma, Headmistress, Cambridge School, Noida, said, “Education isn’t limited to academics. Good education is also about becoming considerate citizens, who are sensitive to the planet they inhabit. Celebrations like the Earth Day are meant to remind us of our responsibility towards nature, our co-inhabitants, and this planet. The Cambridge Schools genuinely aim to instill these values in their students, hoping they will lead in saving the planet Earth from the crises that it is presented with”.

At the Cambridge Schools, thinking about the planet isn’t limited to just one day. Sustainablity is one of the core values that they stand by. Projects like Sowgood Farming, Sustainability Clubs are run all-year round, while events like the Garden Fest are an annual feature. The students are regularly taken for nature walks so they become familiar with the nature’s diverse offerings. All branches of Cambridge Schools are essentially plastic-free zones. Their efforts towards sustainability have got them recognised as “Green Schools multiple times in the recent past.

All the branches of Cambridge School- Srinivaspuri, New Friends Colony, Indirapuram, Noida and Greater Noida observed the Earth Day 2025 with great fervour.
