Noida, April 21, 2025 – Earth Day at Global Indian International School (GIIS), Noida was more than just a celebration — it was a powerful reminder of how small actions can lead to big change. With the theme “Going Green, One Eco–Brick at a Time,” the school proudly showcased its ongoing commitment to sustainability and student-led environmental action.
Partnering with the Save Mother Earth Mission Organisation, GIIS Noida has been an active participant in the My 10 kg Plastic Campaign launched by the Indian Plastic Control Association (IPCA) and Dabur. Since 2023, the school has collected and transformed nearly 500 kg of plastic waste into eco-bricks — innovative building blocks made from recycled plastic.
At the heart of this initiative is the school’s passionate Interact Club, whose student members take the lead every month — going from class to class, encouraging their peers, and creating awareness about recycling and plastic pollution. Thanks to their efforts, the campaign has become a true community movement.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Ganesh Sharma, Principal, GIIS Noida, said: “Our students are showing us what it means to care for the planet. Through the eco–brick campaign, they’re not just recycling — they’re learning responsibility, leadership, and how every small action adds up. Earth Day is the perfect time to celebrate their efforts and keep the momentum going.”
The Earth Day celebrations at GIIS also featured interactive assemblies, colorful posters, and hands-on sustainability workshops, where students shared creative ideas to build a greener world.
As the school continues to grow its eco-initiatives, GIIS Noida remains firmly committed to shaping environmentally conscious, globally minded citizens — one eco–brick at a time.
