Hyderabad, June 22: NMDC Limited, India’s largest iron ore producer and a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Steel, celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga with large-scale participation across its corporate headquarters, mining projects, and regional offices nationwide.
The main event was held at NMDC’s Corporate Office in Hyderabad, where Shri Vinay Kumar, Director (Technical), Shri Krishan Kumar Thakur, Director (Personnel), and Shri C. Neelakanta Reddy, Chief Vigilance Officer, joined employees and their families in celebrating the occasion. The session was conducted by Yogacharya Shri Brij Bhushan Purohit of Namaste India, whose thoughtful guidance inspired participants to embrace yoga as a way of life, fostering physical well-being, mental clarity, and inner harmony.
Simultaneous sessions were organised at the company’s mining complexes and field offices, reflecting the company’s commitment to inclusive employee well-being. In total, over 500 employees and their family members participated in guided sessions encompassing breathing exercises, mindful stretches, and meditative practice.
Aligned with this year’s global theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” NMDC’s celebrations echoed the worldwide call to promote longevity, resilience, and holistic well-being across all stages of life.
Beyond the annual observance, NMDC has institutionalised wellness as part of its daily work culture. The company conducts structured 30-minute yoga sessions every morning at its Hyderabad corporate office, an initiative designed to promote sustained physical health, mental clarity, and a positive workplace environment.
