New Delhi, 20th August 2025: In a moment that blended culture, diplomacy, and artistry, Indian Classical Santoor player Anoushka Majumdar performed at the prestigious Rashtrapati Bhawan in the presence of Her Excellency Droupadi Murmu, President of India, and His Excellency Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr., President of the Philippines.
The performance was part of the State Banquet organised in honour of President Marcos’s official visit to India, commemorating 75 years of India–Philippines diplomatic relations. The evening celebrated the rich heritage of Indian classical music, presenting it as a bridge of friendship between the two nations.
Majumdar who is a disciple of Pt Bhajan Sopori & Pt Abhay Rustum Sopori, daughter of Pt Raj Kumar Majumdar captivated the dignitaries and guests with her rendition, evoking appreciation for India’s timeless musical traditions. “Performing for both the Presidents at Rashtrapati Bhawan is a memory I will cherish forever,” she said.
The event was organised by Sangeet Natak Academy at Rashtrapati Bhawan promoting Indian Classical Music.
This performance comes as yet another milestone in Majumdar’s artistic journey, having earlier represented India at international platforms including the G20 Summit World Leaders Music Ensemble and other prestigious festivals.
