Mumbai, May 21: A large-scale anti-encroachment drive is underway in Mumbai’s Bandra area, with authorities reporting that nearly 85 per cent of the identified illegal structures have been demolished so far amid tight security arrangements.
The operation, being carried out by civic authorities with police support, aims to clear unauthorized constructions and restore public spaces in the locality. Heavy security deployment has been put in place to ensure that the drive proceeds smoothly without disruptions.
Officials stated that the action is part of an ongoing effort to address illegal encroachments and improve urban planning compliance in the city. The remaining structures are expected to be cleared in the next phase of the operation, depending on ground conditions and legal clearances.
The drive has led to heightened security in the area, with authorities closely monitoring the situation to maintain law and order throughout the process.
