New Delhi, June 4: India and Venezuela reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations during high-level talks held in the national capital today.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Venezuela’s Acting President Delcy Rodríguez at Hyderabad House, where both leaders held delegation-level discussions aimed at deepening cooperation across key areas including energy, trade, investment, healthcare, and emerging technologies.
The discussions focused on expanding energy partnerships, enhancing trade and economic engagement, and exploring new opportunities for collaboration in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, and technology-driven development.
Earlier, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar also met Acting President Rodríguez and held detailed talks on strengthening India–Venezuela relations. The meeting emphasized continued engagement and closer coordination between the two countries, particularly in areas of mutual economic interest.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress in bilateral ties and agreed to further strengthen institutional mechanisms to support long-term cooperation.
The visit underscores the growing importance of India’s engagement with Latin American partners and reflects shared interest in expanding South-South cooperation for sustainable development and economic growth.
