CSR Health Project of the Year award for Smile FoundationBengaluru, November 4th, 2025: Smile Foundation received the ‘CSR Health Project of the Year’ award 2025 at the 5th Bharat CSR & Sustainability Summit & Awards. The summit is among India’s foremost platforms celebrating corporate and non-profit organisations that are driving sustainable practices with measurable social impact across India.

India has emerged as a global leader in structured corporate social responsibility, besides a font-runner in sustainable practices. Being the fastest growing major world economy and widespread adoption of CSR investment, the country has witnessed a major shift from philanthropy to strategic and transparent social investments.

Smile Foundation received the award for its comprehensive healthcare interventions that provide quality, affordable, and accessible primary healthcare to underserved communities across 70 districts in 17 states, including 22 Aspirational Districts of India.

Smile Foundation has built a multi-model healthcare delivery system designed to reach the last mile. Its healthcare delivery operations include Mobile Medical Units (MMUs), Mobile Telemedicine Units (MTUs), Static Clinics at Transport Nagars, Multi-Specialty Health Camps, and the innovative Smile on Boat. From the high-altitude villages of Ladakh to the deserts of Jaisalmer, and from the dense urban slums of India’s metros to the river islands of Brahmaputra, Smile Foundation ensures that essential healthcare reaches people where it is needed most.

In FY 2024–25, Smile Foundation’s healthcare initiatives benefitted 20 lakh individuals through preventive, curative and promotive services. The services were extended through 93 Mobile Medical Units, 10 Telemedicine Units, 4 Static Clinics, and numerous other healthcare projects supported by an investment of Rs. 48.62 crore. The Foundation also organised large-scale community screenings, school health programmes, and specialised medical camps, while training ASHA and ANM workers to strengthen local health delivery systems.

“This recognition is a great encouragement. It belongs to over 600 doctors, project managers, paramedics, medical technicians, counsellors, community mobilisers, and mobile unit drivers across India. We are deeply thankful to our corporate supporters, donors, and government department and agencies who continue to believe in our mission. District Health Administrations and local bodies have shown immense confidence in our work. Our collective effort contributes to ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being, as envisioned in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG–3),” said Mr. Santanu Mishra, Co-founder of Smile Foundation.

In alignment with the National Digital Health Mission, Smile Foundation has introduced technology-enabled solutions such as AI-based portable diagnostic kits, Electronic Health Records (EHR) with HIPAA-compliant data, AngleCam and G-Tropy GPS tracking for real-time monitoring, and ReMeDi Telemedicine systems capable of performing more than 30 diagnostic different tests including HB, RBS, ECG, BP, and Fetal Doppler. These tools ensure transparency, strengthen reporting, and enhance the efficiency of healthcare delivery.

Smile Foundation’s healthcare interventions continue to reduce out-of-pocket expenditure, enhance health-seeking behaviour, strengthen the capacity of public health systems, and complement the governmental missions. The Foundation’s work also complements national priorities under Ayushman Bharat, the National Digital Health Mission, and POSHAN Abhiyaan, creating a model that bridges public, private, and community efforts for inclusive healthcare access.
