“Speaking on AMFI’s October report, Mr Mukesh Kalra, Founder and CEO, ETMONEY said, inflows in debt mutual funds continued to rise in the month of October on the back of ongoing low Fixed Deposits returns, making short to long-duration debt funds more viable for investors. Hybrid funds saw the lowest redemption percentage compared to new money being invested among all other categories; upkeeping its trend of high faith shown by investors in recent times. This further show investor exhibiting smart investing behaviour as they are opting for a cushion of debt along with equities. SIP inflows of the industry grew by 1.6% to cross ₹10,518 Cr last month while new folios de-grew by 13%. At ETMONEY though, we continued to add new investors and we are now at a touching distance of processing 10 Lakh SIPs a month forming over 40% of our total gross sales as compared to around 30% in the industry.”
