GNIT Hosts Pioneering Two-Day AICTE VAANI Event

December 04, 2024: The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology (GNIT), a JIS Group Educational Initiative, successfully hosted a two-day seminar on “Sustainable Semiconductor Manufacturing”. Organised under the prestigious AICTE VAANI scheme, the seminar marked a significant achievement for GNIT as one of the select institutions in Eastern India approved by AICTE to conduct regional language seminars. This milestone event was further supported by an external grant from AICTE.

The seminar attracted over 60 participants, including faculty, research scholars, and postgraduate students from reputed institutions, who engaged in knowledge-sharing sessions with eminent academicians and industry experts. The event commenced with the National Anthem, followed by an opening address by GNIT Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Swarup Kr. Mitra, and an inspiring keynote speech by Prof. Neeraj Saxena, Pro Chancellor of JIS University.

The seminar featured comprehensive presentations delivered in Bengali by distinguished speakers from premier institutions such as Jadavpur University, IIEST Shibpur, and BARC Mumbai, covering critical topics like semiconductor device miniaturization, automation, sustainability, and future trends. The thoughtful discussions illuminated cutting-edge developments in the semiconductor industry, encouraging participants to explore advanced research opportunities in this dynamic field. Coordinated by Dr. Sunipa Roy, Dean, R&D, and Dr. Kaushik Roy, the initiative highlighted GNIT’s commitment to academic excellence and its role as a catalyst in advancing sustainable technologies.
