Noida: Institute of management Studies (IMS) Noida is proud to announce that the innovative and talented team RefrriRangers from the School of Information Technology (SOIT) has clinched the 1st Position in the prestigious Smart India Hackathon 2024 held at IIT Bhubaneswar.
The solution brought by the team was innovatively creative, technically sound with real-world applicability; hence, they won not only the competition but also a cash amount of INR 100,000. In this battle of brains with some of the brilliant minds of the country, the RefrriRangers have proved innovative ability to shine and excel in any pressure at a national level.
The RefrriRangers impressed the jury with their latest venture on water conservation through which they came up with an innovative solution for dealing with a critical challenge of having an efficient process for managing water and leveraging advanced technologies like sensors from IoT and data analytics in real-time monitoring systems to avoid water wastage with optimum usage and sustainable practice across urban and rural areas. This was different because it had the real capability to impact one of the most critical environmental issues of our generation.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Vikas Dhawan, Director General IMS Noida said, “This achievement by the RefrriRangers is a testament to high-quality education and mentorship at IMS Noida. We are proud of our students for their diligence, determination, and innovative mindset. Winning the Smart India Hackathon is not just a feather in the cap of this team but for the whole IMS Noida community as well.”
The mentors and faculty at SOIT prepared the team in such a way that it was capable of taking on complex problems and delivering an award-winning solution.
The Smart India Hackathon is the Government of India’s initiative to involve students in the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship. Hundreds of teams comprising premier institutes from all corners of the country participated and competed with each other in solving the problems set by the industries, government bodies, and NGOs in the recently concluded 2024 edition.
