MP Cabinet Approves Major Measures for Rural Empowerment, Education and Healthcare

Bhopal, June 2: The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has approved a series of key decisions aimed at strengthening rural development, improving education, expanding healthcare infrastructure, and supporting farmers across the state.

One of the most significant decisions is the issuance of free registered property ownership documents under the SVAMITVA scheme. The initiative is expected to benefit nearly 48 lakh rural property owners, providing them with legally recognised ownership records and improving access to institutional credit while reducing property-related disputes.

The state government will bear the entire cost of registration, ensuring that beneficiaries receive ownership documents without any financial burden. Officials believe the move will enhance economic security and empower rural households.

In the education sector, the Cabinet has decided to provide ready-made stitched uniforms to students from Classes 1 to 8. Replacing the earlier direct benefit transfer system, the new arrangement aims to ensure timely distribution of quality uniforms, particularly in remote tribal and rural areas. Local garment manufacturers will be engaged in the production process, creating additional employment opportunities within the state.

The Cabinet also approved continued investment in medical education and healthcare infrastructure, with substantial funding allocated for the development of medical colleges and expansion of postgraduate medical seats. The initiative is expected to strengthen healthcare services and help meet the growing demand for trained medical professionals.

Agriculture remains a major focus area, with Madhya Pradesh recording a landmark wheat procurement season. The state procured over 10 million tonnes of wheat, benefiting more than 13 lakh farmers and reinforcing its position among India’s leading agricultural producers.

Officials said the decisions reflect the government’s commitment to inclusive development, improved public services, and economic empowerment across rural and urban communities.
