“Roots Young Chef” Competition Conducted at Roots College

ROOTS Young Chef competition conducted at Roots College.

Hyderabad, 02 December 2022: Providing a unique platform to cook with an innovative and creative edge for dishes by school kids in Hyderabad, the “ROOTS Young Chef” Competition was conducted in the city Roots Degree college in Jubilee Hills. All the students participated with so much zeal and enthusiasm to win the title.

ROOTS Young Chef Competition was set off three years ago by the ROOTS College of Hotel Management as a platform for young, aspiring, and talented chefs from among the upcoming generation of school students. It is a unique opportunity for high school students in Hyderabad to participate and showcase their culinary talent and skills to gain global recognition. The competition aims to bring forth budding young culinary talent on a single platform and also to ignite interest and instill passion among school children to showcase their culinary talents.

The honorees present at the event tasted the food made by the students to decide the Young Chef title winner. Shri. B P Padala Chairman of Roots Collegium graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Renowned Chefs Mr. Sukesh& Mr. Uday Vice Principal of Roots College of Hotel Management were the Jury Members. All the teams who participated displayed excellent culinary arts and amazing visually stimulating plating skills. The jury members tasted all the dishes and opined that all teams have done well judging from among dishes prepared by the teams, and the jury announced the winners.

Snigdha & Dhairya Jain of Delhi Public School has bagged the Third Prize Bronze Medal. Aagam & Divya of Vasavi Public School, Himayat Nagar won the Second Prize Silver Medal. Vaibhavi & Atyasha of Sister Niveditha School Ameerpet were declared as the winners of the First Prize Gold Medal.

Addressing the children Shri. B P Padala said, “Students who participated in this competition are all extremely talented. I would also recommend they to take cooking tips from their mothers and grandmothers. Keeping Indian traditions alive and elevating our food through them, taking them across the borders is very important. I would also suggest to all the children to focus more on preparing rich Indian dishes when they participate in any such cooking competitions in the near future. The competition was tough, and it is hard to decide who the title winner is. I congratulate all the winners on their achievement of the Young Chef Title. ”
