SVKM’s NMIMS Hyderabad Hosts KAUNYAK 2026, Draws National Participation Across Disciplines

Hyderabad, Feb 24: SVKM’s NMIMS Hyderabad successfully hosted KAUNYAK 2026, its inaugural undergraduate multidisciplinary fest, from February 21 to 23 at its Jadcherla campus. The three-day event brought together students from the School of Law, School of Commerce, School of Pharmacy & Technology Management, and School of Technology Management & Engineering on a unified competitive platform.

With a combined prize pool exceeding ₹2,00,000 and participation from institutions across India, KAUNYAK 2026 emerged as a significant integrated undergraduate academic gathering in the region. Competitions were evaluated by a distinguished panel of academicians, legal practitioners, and industry professionals.

Academic Excellence Across Schools

The School of Law hosted several flagship events, including the 4th NMIMS Hyderabad Moot Court Competition, which examined emerging legal challenges surrounding the metaverse and immersive technologies. Additional competitions such as mock trials, client counselling rounds, crime scene investigations, and the NMIMS Laurel Cup Debate further strengthened the legal segment.

The School of Commerce organised the Vintage Stock Market—an immersive, fully offline open-outcry trading simulation where participants negotiated live without digital devices. Entrepreneurship pitch sessions and finance-based challenges added depth to the business track.

The School of Pharmacy & Technology Management conducted the Healthcare Leaders Conclave alongside film competitions and interactive campus events, fostering dialogue at the intersection of healthcare innovation and management.

The School of Technology Management & Engineering led high-intensity technical competitions, including NM-Hacks, a 24-hour hackathon featuring a ₹1,00,000 prize pool. The technical lineup also included drone challenges, robotics contests, gaming tournaments, coding competitions, and VR showcases.

A Multidisciplinary Vision

The fest concluded with cultural performances under AARAMBH, blending artistic expression with academic competition and reinforcing the spirit of collaboration across disciplines.

“KAUNYAK 2026 reflects our vision of creating a truly multidisciplinary learning environment,” said Dr. Suman Naredla, Director, NMIMS Hyderabad. “We wanted students to move beyond classrooms and experience law in courtrooms, finance on trading floors, and technology in real-time innovation settings. The scale and response in our first edition have been extremely encouraging.”

A student participant from the hackathon added, “The 24-hour format pushed us to think faster and collaborate better. It felt like working in a real startup environment.”

Established in 2018–19 and spread across 90+ acres, NMIMS Hyderabad houses four major schools. The successful debut of KAUNYAK positions the institution to develop the fest into a recurring national platform celebrating undergraduate excellence and multidisciplinary innovation.
