Both patients faced the emotional and physical challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis, highlighting the crucial need for timely medical intervention and compassionate care. At HCG Aastha Cancer Centre, Ahmedabad, they underwent robotic neck dissections combined with free flap reconstruction—a surgical procedure that precisely removes cancerous tissue and replaces it with tissue from another part of the body to reconstruct the affected area, resulting in minimal scarring. This advanced treatment provided them with not only cutting-edge care but also a nurturing environment that addressed their concerns and guided them through their challenging paths to recovery.

Dr. Nitin Sharma, Robotic Head & Neck and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgeon, HCG Aastha Cancer Centre, Ahmedabad, stated, “Oral cancer is no longer confined to the elderly; we now see many young, socially and professionally active patients who expect to look the same after surgery. Cosmetic oncology, as emphasized by Dr. Dhanushya Gohil, is an emerging field focused on addressing both aesthetic and functional aspects post-surgery, allowing patients to return to their previous quality of life. The integration of robotics, free flaps, and onco-dentistry has revolutionized this field, offering significant benefits with minimal additional cost.”
