Mumbai, 25th March 2025– The 2nd International Physiotherapy Conference 2025, KJSPARC – Innovation & Beyond, organised by K J Somaiya College of Physiotherapy at Somaiya Vidyavihar University, was a grand success. Over two days, the conference brought together renowned experts, researchers, and clinicians from across the globe, fostering interdisciplinary discussions and showcasing advancements that are shaping the future of physiotherapy. With engaging panel discussions, groundbreaking research presentations, hands-on workshops, and cultural events, KJSPARC 2025 proved to be a holistic platform for learning, innovation, and collaboration. A significant highlight was the participation of an international speaker from Gulf Medical College, who addressed the audience with invaluable insights tailored specifically for the participants.
The conference was meticulously organized under the leadership of Prof Shweta Manwadkar (PT), Dr. Pothiraj Pitchai (PT), Dr. Mugdha Oberoi, Dr. Prachi Sarvaiya (PT), and Treasurer Dr. Khyati Kothari (PT). Their dedication and vision ensured that the event ran seamlessly, creating an enriching experience for all attendees.
KJSPARC 2025 commenced with pre-conference workshops at K J Somaiya College of Physiotherapy, where participants received hands-on training in specialized physiotherapy techniques. Delivering the keynote address, Mr. Shiva Subramaniam, an expert from IIT Madras and co-founder of Biomimicry Compass, captivated the audience with his insights into biomimicry and its applications in physiotherapy. He remarked, “The future of physiotherapy lies in embracing interdisciplinary innovation. By integrating nature’s designs with modern technology, we can revolutionize rehabilitation and patient care.”
Speaking about the importance of such academic platforms, Prof. Shweta Manwadkar (PT), Principal of K J Somaiya College of Physiotherapy, emphasized that “Conferences like KJSPARC are essential in shaping the future of physiotherapy, bridging the gap between research and clinical practice, and inspiring innovation that can redefine patient care.”

Submissions were categorized into Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG), Junior, Senior, and Professional, ensuring diverse perspectives and cutting-edge contributions. Another landmark moment was the launch of the abstract e-book of the conference proceedings, assigned an ISBN number, adding to the academic prestige of the event.
Beyond academics, KJSPARC 2025 also celebrated creativity and intellectual engagement through competitions such as an academic quiz, debates, and cultural events. The Student Forum played an active role in organizing cultural competitions, including a reel-making and movie-making contest, as well as a fashion show, which added excitement and energy to the conference atmosphere.
