The prolonged spell of extreme heat has impacted normal life across multiple districts, with people avoiding outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours. High temperatures, coupled with dry weather conditions, have increased the risk of heat-related illnesses, prompting authorities to advise citizens to remain hydrated and avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight.
According to weather observations, western and interior districts of Odisha continue to bear the brunt of the heatwave, while coastal regions have also reported above-normal temperatures. The prevailing weather pattern has contributed to rising daytime temperatures across the state.
The administration has urged people, particularly children, senior citizens, and outdoor workers, to take precautionary measures, including staying indoors during peak heat hours, consuming adequate fluids, and following health advisories issued by authorities.
Weather agencies have indicated that heatwave conditions may persist in several parts of the state over the coming days, with close monitoring underway to assess further developments.
