The programme commenced with a thought provoking message from the Principal, Miss Writuparna Chaterjee, followed by the felicitation of the Chief Guest and the distribution of prizes among students to recognise their accomplishments in academic as well as co-curricular activities. Months of ardour and dedication had been at work for the cultural extravaganza to take such a grand shape. The programme sought to portray myriad forms of Indian and global culture through varied genres of song, dance and drama.

The first day of ‘Chrysalis’ was marked by the lively performances of the dipsites from the junior section i.e. Classes Nursery to five. The soulful tunes of indigenous folk music cast into modern rhythms and the lively performance of the Junior choir ‘Crochets and Quavers’ lent a melodious beginning to the evening. The vibrant dance moves combined with the jolly beats of Spanish, Japanese and rock music in events like ‘Cinco de Mayo,’ ‘Electro Vibes,’ and ‘Sen Bu’ were indeed a feast for the eyes of all spectators. The English play ‘Peter Pan’ sought to project the lingering desire of every heart to hold on to the innocence of childhood days, while the Bengali drama ‘Kailash e Bibhrat’ took a comic approach towards the mythology of the Hindu Pantheon.

The second day of ‘Chrysalis’ was greeted by the same enthusiasm and fervour. A tribute to Goddess Saraswati, the divine embodiment of learning through the ‘Saraswati Vandana’ was an apt beginning to the concert. ‘The Harmonic Cadence,’ the senior school choir and ‘Crescendo,’ the school band, took the stage by storm with their melodies. Dance recital to Tagore’s songs, graceful moves to the ‘Beats of Hindustan,’ and the Hindi play ‘Chakravyu,’ presented some of the most celebrated aspects of Indian culture. The adaptation of ‘King Lear,’ and other performances like ‘The Agraciado Ballet,’ ‘Dynamite Daze,’ and ‘Renaissance of Hope,’ also won the hearts of the spectators. The liveliness and visual richness of the concert created a cutural kaleidoscope before the eyes of the spectators. The curtains came down upon the event with a vote of thanks from the Headmaster, Mr Rajiv Bhattacharya, followed by the National Anthem.
