Telangana on Alert as Heatwave Conditions Intensify Across Districts

Hyderabad, May 20: With rising temperatures and worsening heatwave conditions across several districts, Telangana Chief Minister has urged residents to take necessary precautions to stay safe.

Authorities have been directed to ensure adequate drinking water supply, functioning of cooling centers, and medical preparedness in vulnerable areas. Citizens have been advised to avoid direct sun exposure during peak afternoon hours, stay hydrated, and take special care of children, the elderly, and outdoor workers.

Health officials have warned that prolonged exposure to extreme heat may lead to dehydration, heat exhaustion, and other heat-related illnesses. District administrations are closely monitoring the situation and have been instructed to remain on alert as temperatures continue to remain above normal levels in several parts of the state.

The government has also appealed to employers and local bodies to adjust working hours where possible and ensure safety measures for those engaged in outdoor activities.
