PMAY, Jal Jeevan Mission and Ujjwala Drive ‘Ease of Living’ Revolution Across India

New Delhi, June 16: Over the past 12 years, flagship government initiatives such as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), and Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) have transformed the daily lives of millions of Indians by expanding access to essential services and improving living standards across the country.

These programmes have focused on addressing fundamental household needs, including housing, clean drinking water, and clean cooking fuel, helping families experience greater comfort, dignity, and security in their everyday lives.

Under PMAY, millions of beneficiaries have gained access to permanent homes, providing a stronger foundation for social and economic well-being. Meanwhile, the Jal Jeevan Mission has significantly expanded household tap water connectivity, reducing the burden on families—particularly women—and improving public health outcomes in rural areas.

The Ujjwala Yojana has further contributed to this transformation by enabling households to shift from traditional cooking methods to cleaner LPG-based cooking solutions, reducing indoor air pollution and promoting healthier living conditions.

Officials noted that these initiatives reflect a broader commitment to inclusive development, ensuring that the benefits of growth reach every section of society. The schemes have played a crucial role in empowering women, improving rural infrastructure, and enhancing access to basic amenities.

The government stated that continued investments in welfare programmes and infrastructure development remain central to its vision of creating a more inclusive, empowered, and prosperous India.

As the country marks over a decade of transformative governance, these flagship initiatives continue to serve as key pillars in advancing the goal of improving the quality of life for citizens nationwide.
