LEAPS 2025 is a flagship benchmarking and recognition program aligned with the National Logistics Policy (NLP) 2022 and the PM GatiShakti vision. It focuses on strengthening India’s logistics capabilities by honoring organizations and institutions that demonstrate leadership, operational efficiency, and commitment to sustainable practices.

The initiative spans across air, road, maritime, and rail freight operators, along with warehousing providers, multimodal transporters, MSMEs, startups, and educational institutions contributing to the logistics ecosystem.

Why It Matters

India’s logistics sector plays a critical role in supporting the economy, enabling trade, and facilitating movement of goods across the vast geography of the country. Efficient logistics systems directly influence the ease of doing business, lower transportation costs, and contribute to faster and greener deliveries.

By introducing LEAPS 2025, the government aims to:

  • Drive innovation and efficiency

  • Encourage sustainability and ESG compliance

  • Promote green logistics practices

  • Support Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives

  • Position India as a global logistics hub by 2047

A Holistic Approach to Infrastructure Development

LEAPS 2025 was launched alongside several other infrastructure initiatives under PM GatiShakti, including:

  • PM GatiShakti Public: Opening the national master plan to private sector for seamless infrastructure planning.

  • PMGS Offshore: A dedicated platform for managing offshore development, supporting India’s Blue Economy.

  • District Master Plans for Aspirational Districts: Promoting regional development through data-driven infrastructure planning.

  • PMGS NMP Dashboard: A unified system to monitor progress across sectors and projects.

Together, these programs aim to create a digitally integrated, data-driven logistics and infrastructure ecosystem, making India future-ready.

Towards Viksit Bharat @2047

As India moves towards its centenary of independence in 2047, initiatives like LEAPS 2025 will play a pivotal role in building a resilient, globally competitive, and sustainable logistics sector. The focus on ESG, green technologies, and innovation highlights the government’s commitment to not just growth, but growth with responsibility.

With stakeholders from government, industry, and academia joining hands, LEAPS 2025 signals a new era of collaboration and excellence in Indian logistics — one that is aligned with global standards and national priorities.

Conclusion:
LEAPS 2025 is not just an award program; it is a catalyst for transformation. By recognizing excellence and fostering innovation, the initiative will help build a robust logistics backbone that powers India’s ambitions for the future — making the vision of Viksit Bharat a reality.
