Dalmia Cement Salutes Stakeholders at Shrawani Mela, Reinforcing Commitment to Resilience

Deoghar, 29th July 2024: Dalmia Bharat Limited (DBL), India’s leading cement manufacturer is proud to celebrate the unwavering resilience and dedication of local youth during the vibrant and spiritually enriching Shravani Mela, Jharkhand’s biggest festival. As part of their ‘Saluting the Expert’ initiative in the Eastern region, the company felicitated Ms. Mahima Kumari, a National-level Kho-Kho player and seven-time state champion with the ‘Jai Kanwar Award’. Building on the shared synergies between the resilience shown by kanwars and the domain expertise offered by Dalmia Cememt ‘RCF EXPERT’, the award aims to honour local achievers who exhibit similar faith in their purpose. Ms. Kumari received a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 in recognition of her significant contributions and achievements in sports.

 In support of the devotees, Dalmia Bharat has established 10 water distribution kiosks along the 108 km route from Sultanganj to Deoghar. These kiosks will provide essential hydration to pilgrims undertaking the physically demanding journey, ensuring their well-being and safety. Additionally, Dalmia Bharat constructed a resting place for visitors, known as the Dalmia Seva. This facility will be available to pilgrims until the end of Shravan Maas, offering a place to rest and recuperate during their journey. Acknowledging the vital contributions of the contractors, Dalmia Bharat also honoured their top 30 contractors with trophies at a special event. Committed to promoting education in the region, Dalmia Bharat also distributed 31 school kits with essential educational material to the children of the contractors.

 Shravani Mela is an annual pilgrimage that draws millions of devotees from across the country. The pilgrimage begins in Sultanganj, Bihar, where devotees embark on a 108-kilometer journey to Deoghar, carrying holy water and milk to pour on the idol of Lord Shiva at the Baidhyanath Dham temple. This sacred tradition not only reflects the spiritual fervor of the participants but also underscores their physical and mental fortitude.
