May 14: Hiring activity in India’s semiconductor Global Capability Centre (GCC) sector has witnessed strong momentum, with open job roles rising to 3,549 during the first quarter of 2026, according to a recent report.
The increase reflects growing global interest in expanding semiconductor design, engineering and research operations in India as companies strengthen their technology and chip development capabilities.
Industry experts say India is increasingly emerging as a strategic talent hub for semiconductor and electronics companies due to its skilled workforce, engineering ecosystem and expanding digital infrastructure.
The hiring demand is largely concentrated in areas such as chip design, embedded systems, artificial intelligence, verification engineering and semiconductor research and development.
Major technology and semiconductor firms are continuing to expand their GCC presence in cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune and Chennai, contributing to increased employment opportunities in the sector.
Experts believe the rising hiring trend also signals India’s growing role in the global semiconductor value chain at a time when countries and companies are focusing on supply chain diversification and technology resilience.
