Mumbai, March 26: The Sensex and Nifty extended their winning streak to seven days on Tuesday, driven by gains in major stocks like HDFC Bank, Infosys, and UltraTech Cement.
The BSE Sensex ended higher by 32.81 points, or 0.04%, at 78,017.19, after reaching an intra-day high of 78,741.69. The Nifty rose 10.30 points, or 0.04%, to close at 23,668.65.
Despite early gains, the indices faced profit-taking, with Zomato and IndusInd Bank among the top losers. IT stocks posted positive results due to favorable global cues.
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) continued to support the market, buying equities worth ₹5,371.57 crore. Investor sentiment remains cautious as they await trade policy clarity between the US and India.
