PRO-NET, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Proton, marked its presence at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025 with the unveiling of its latest electric vehicle, the Proton e.MAS 5. Clad in a camouflaged wrap, the e.MAS 5 was revealed during a media ceremony by Chief Executive Officer Mr Zhang Qiang, who announced that the model will officially launch in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Targeted at younger drivers and first-time EV buyers, the e.MAS 5 is designed as a compact, intelligent and stylish vehicle, in contrast to the earlier e.MAS 7, a C-segment SUV aimed at families. The new model reinforces PRO-NET’s commitment to support the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), which targets 80% electrified vehicle sales by 2050.

Alongside the unveiling, PRO-NET launched the “Electrify Your Life” Campaign and Contest, running nationwide from May 8 to July 31. Malaysians are invited to submit slogans on what electrification means to them, with a chance to win monthly prizes and a grand prize – a brand-new Proton e.MAS 5, to be announced on August 24 at Central i-City, Shah Alam.

Roadshows featuring the e.MAS 7 and preview of the e.MAS 5 will be held across major cities, including Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Melaka, Johor Bahru and Shah Alam.

The event also marked the conclusion of the ASEAN Unity Drive, a 9,000km, 16-day EV convoy across nine ASEAN capitals. Organised by MARii under MITI, and supported by PRO-NET, the drive showcased the Proton e.MAS 7 alongside the X50 and X70 models, promoting regional cooperation and Malaysia’s EV leadership.
