Mumbai, May 04: The 18th edition of the Newsmakers Achievers Awards 2026 concluded on a grand note, honouring exceptional individuals and institutions for their impactful contributions across governance, arts, media, social service, sports, and public leadership.
Curated by Vaidehi Taman, the prestigious event was graced by the Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra, Vishnu Dev Varma, as the Chief Guest. The ceremony brought together a distinguished gathering of policymakers, industry leaders, artists, and changemakers from across the country.
A key highlight of the evening was the presentation of Lifetime Achievement Awards to eminent personalities including Usha Mangeshkar, Hariharan, and Sanjeev Kapoor, along with Smt. Rahi Bhide, Smt. Sushma Deshpande, and Shri Datta Bargaje, recognising their enduring contributions to their respective fields.
The awards also celebrated a diverse group of achievers such as Dilip Joshi, Atul Tiwari, Pooja Bedi, Devinder Walmiki, Vijay Kumbhar, Anuja Dhakras, Ajjibaichi Shala, and Kushagra Pathak, among others, highlighting excellence across entertainment, theatre, wellness, journalism, transparency, social education, and wildlife conservation.
Speaking at the event, Dilip Joshi expressed gratitude for his journey in the entertainment industry, acknowledging his team and the continued success of his long-running show. Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, while receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award, highlighted the evolving mindset of the younger generation and the importance of learning from them. Singer Hariharan described music as a source of positivity and emphasised its role in spreading joy.
