New Delhi, May 20: The Central Bank of India has announced plans to open 150 new branches across the country and recruit approximately 1,400 officers during the current fiscal year, aiming to strengthen its outreach and support its growth objectives.
Kalyan Kumar, MD and CEO of the bank, highlighted that the expansion is part of a strategic initiative to enhance banking services, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas, where the bank currently has around 65% of its branches.
“With this expansion, we aim to bring banking closer to more communities and provide efficient financial services across India,” said Kumar. The move is expected to create employment opportunities and further reinforce the bank’s presence in underserved regions.
Currently, the Central Bank of India operates 4,585 branches across all 28 states and six of the seven Union Territories. The planned branch additions and recruitment drive align with the bank’s long-term growth strategy and commitment to inclusive banking.
