Gujarat, June 17: In a unique initiative, Gujarat has unveiled the nation’s first public traffic circle dedicated to the Indian Coast Guard, marking a distinctive tribute to the maritime force’s service and contribution to national security.
The newly developed traffic circle has been designed to honour the role of the Indian Coast Guard in safeguarding India’s maritime borders, conducting rescue operations, and ensuring coastal security.
Officials stated that the landmark reflects the state’s recognition of the Coast Guard’s commitment to protecting lives at sea and supporting maritime safety operations along India’s extensive coastline.
The design of the traffic circle incorporates visual elements symbolizing maritime strength and coastal defence, aiming to create public awareness about the importance of the Indian Coast Guard in national security and disaster response.
Authorities added that the initiative also serves as a civic landmark, blending urban infrastructure with national pride and public education.
The project is being seen as a symbolic gesture that highlights Gujarat’s coastal identity and its strong association with maritime development and security.
