Hyderabad, Mar 25: In its latest campaign, Airbnb brings together Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna to capture a more personal way to travel, offering a glimpse into their first getaway after their wedding – one defined by slowing down, spending time together, and celebrating with the people closest to them.
Set in Koh Samui, the film follows the couple as they choose a private Airbnb villa, embracing a space that allows them to slow down and simply be. What unfolds is a series of candid, unscripted moments – quiet mornings, music in the kitchen, and long afternoons by the pool. At the heart of it is a voiceover drawn from the couple’s own wedding notes to each other, adding a layer of intimacy to the narrative. Lines like “My husband… still getting used to saying that”, “My best friend. That part hasn’t changed”, and “she’ll always dance like no one’s watching” carry through the film, grounding everyday moments in something deeply personal – whether it’s playful banter over breakfast, dancing without inhibition, or conversations about what the future might hold.
Speaking about their experience, Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna said, “For us, travel has always been about making new memories with our friends and family and staying in an Airbnb always makes it that really easy, we could all be together in one space, hang out, play games, be in the pool and watch the sunset, enjoy good food, and experience the local culture in a more real, unfiltered way. It felt less like visiting, and more like living the place”.
The oceanfront villa, with its expansive shared spaces, infinity pool, and warm, lived-in design, becomes central to the experience – bringing together the comfort of a home with the feeling of a luxury escape.
The presence of friends throughout the trip reflects a broader shift in how people are travelling today. According to Airbnb, nearly 40% of summer searches by Indian travellers are for group stays*, highlighting a growing preference for experiences that are both intimate and shared. Increasingly, travellers are choosing to celebrate meaningful moments alongside their closest circle – a trend often referred to as a ‘buddymoon’.
Through this film, Airbnb reinforces its core idea: it’s not just where you stay, but how you choose to stay. By offering spaces designed for connection, flexibility, and comfort, Airbnb enables travellers to experience destinations in a way that feels truly their own.
