Ashish Limaye Secures Gold and Bronze at FEI Eventing Competition Montelibretti 2026

Mar 28: Indian equestrian rider Ashish Limaye delivered an impressive performance at the FEI Eventing Competition Montelibretti 2026, clinching both Gold and Bronze medals in a highly competitive international field.

 Competing in the CCI 2 Long Format (CCI 2L), Limaye rode Easy Turn to secure the Gold Medal with a score of 30.2, outperforming 15 entries from five nations including India, Japan, Korea, Spain, and Italy.

He further showcased his versatility in the CCI 2 Short Format (CCI 2S), earning a Bronze Medal aboard Willy Be Dun with a score of 32, in a much larger field of 66 riders representing nine countries such as the United States, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, Austria, Sweden, and Ecuador.

Reflecting on his performance, Limaye said:

“Riding at Montelibretti was an amazing experience. Competing against such talented riders from across the world was truly rewarding. I’m very pleased with the performances of Easy Turn and Willy Be Dun. These results are a testament to the consistent training and effort put in by the entire team. I look forward to stepping up to the next level of competition.”

The competition, held under the international FEI calendar at the two-star level, provided valuable exposure ahead of Limaye’s progression to the more advanced CCI 3* level.

In addition, Limaye achieved a Minimum Eligibility Requirement (MER) aboard D’Avril du Pinier, marking two out of the three MERs required to qualify for the prestigious FEI World Equestrian Games.

An instructor and sponsored rider at the Embassy International Riding School, Limaye continues to represent India at top-tier international events, consistently delivering strong performances.

His latest achievements once again elevate India’s presence on the global equestrian stage, highlighting the steady rise of Indian talent in international eventing.
