Bhubaneswar, June 6: The World Skill Centre (WSC), Bhubaneswar, on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the World Trade Center (WTC), Bhubaneswar to strengthen international industry linkages and expand global career opportunities for skilled youth from Odisha.
The agreement was formalised during a ceremony held at the WSC campus in the presence of senior officials from both organisations, industry representatives, and other distinguished guests. The event marked a significant step toward integrating skill development with global trade ecosystems and employment networks.

The partnership aims to bridge the gap between industry-ready skills and international workforce requirements by facilitating structured global exposure. Key areas of collaboration include international internships and apprenticeships, skill exchange programmes, industry engagement initiatives, and the development of globally relevant training modules. The initiative is also expected to enhance the employability of skilled professionals seeking opportunities in international markets.
Speaking on the occasion, A. Rajyalaxmi highlighted the rising global demand for skilled human resources in an increasingly interconnected economy. She noted that the collaboration will create new avenues for international exposure, professional development, and career advancement for the youth of Odisha.
The World Trade Center Bhubaneswar, an accredited member of the World Trade Centers Association headquartered in New York, plays a key role in promoting international trade, investment facilitation, and global business linkages through its worldwide network. It continues to support enterprises and institutions in accessing global opportunities.
The World Skill Centre, established under the Department of Skill Development and Technical Education, Government of Odisha, is recognised as one of India’s premier institutions for advanced skill training. With world-class infrastructure and industry-aligned programmes, the centre focuses on preparing youth for emerging employment opportunities across global markets.
The MoU was signed by Subhanga Kishore Das and A. Rajyalaxmi in the presence of Rashmi Ranjan Mohapatra and senior leadership teams of both organisations.
Officials stated that the collaboration will help connect Odisha’s skilled workforce with international opportunities while further strengthening the state’s position as a hub for world-class skill development and workforce excellence.

During the event, the senior management team of Shreyas WebMedia Solutions attended the ceremony and engaged with experts and stakeholders to gain insights into how modern skill development initiatives are enhancing employability, workforce productivity, and talent development.
