Indore, June 8: Indore is set to host the BRICS Agriculture Ministers’ Meeting, bringing together agriculture ministers and senior officials from member countries to deliberate on key issues affecting the global agriculture sector, with a special focus on small and marginal farmers, food security, and climate resilience.

The meeting will serve as a platform for strengthening cooperation among BRICS nations in areas such as sustainable agriculture, improved productivity, and resilient food systems. Discussions are expected to centre on enhancing the livelihoods of small farmers and ensuring their better integration into modern agricultural value chains.

Delegates will also examine strategies to strengthen global and regional food security in the face of climate change, supply chain disruptions, and evolving market challenges. Climate-smart agriculture practices and sustainable farming innovations are likely to be key areas of focus.

The forum will further explore opportunities for knowledge sharing, technology transfer, and adoption of best practices among member countries to boost agricultural efficiency and rural development.
