Maruti Suzuki to Invest INR 150 Crore in Biogas Projects to Boost Green Energy Push

June 5: Maruti Suzuki India has announced an investment of ₹150 crore in biogas projects as part of its broader strategy to expand its clean energy and sustainability initiatives.

The company said the investment will support the development of biogas production infrastructure aimed at promoting renewable energy use and reducing dependence on conventional fuels. The initiative is aligned with India’s growing focus on cleaner mobility and low-carbon energy solutions.

The project is expected to contribute to waste-to-energy conversion, helping reduce agricultural and organic waste while generating cleaner fuel alternatives. It also forms part of the company’s long-term commitment to environmental responsibility and carbon reduction targets.

Industry observers note that the move reflects a wider trend among automakers investing in green energy solutions, including biogas, electric mobility, and other sustainable fuel technologies, as India transitions toward a low-emission future.
