New Delhi, 29th September 2021: World’s largest summit on artificial intelligence (AI), the Global Artificial Intelligence Summit & Awards (GAISA), 2021, organized by the All India Council for Robotics and Automation (AICRA) and supported by NITI Aayog, a public policy think tank of the Government of India began in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on Tuesday, September 28, 2021.
Prof. K. VijayRaghavan, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India inaugurated the 2nd edition of GAISA. Shri Rao Inderjit Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Planning, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation will be the chief guest at the awards ceremony on 29th September 2021.
In the 2nd edition of GAISA more than 1,000 companies are expected to participate from across the world.
The first day of GAISA featured three panel discussions and three keynote speakers who dwelt on the use of AI in the fields of healthcare, agriculture, education, smart cities, infrastructure, smart mobility, and transportation.

Prof. K. VijayRaghavan, Principal Scientific Adviser to Government of India said “the fundamental challenge, for AI, is the availability of data.” He further added “this challenge needs to addressed by industry stakeholders so that the benefits of AI can percolate to all.”
Dr. Reji Kumar Pillai, President, India Smart Grid Forum, while speaking at the event said, “In future we may be able to speak with the machines with the help of technology.”
